The Bagua Big Sabre
Excerpt:"Now THIS is a knife" - When I first held my Bagua Big Sabre, Crocodile Dundee's famous line came unbidden to my mind. Five foot long and eight pounds in weight, it is a heavy beast of a weapon, and yet, as any good sword, it plays like it is alive in the hand. Bagua Zhang (Eight Trigram Palm) is one of the rarest of the Chinese martial arts. And one of its distinctive modes of training for which Bagua is famous in China is the use of unusually large and heavy weapons.

Eight Animal Postures of Yin Style Bagua
Excerpt: A common feature of almost all Bagua styles is a training method known as the Eight Mother Palms (Ba Mu Chang). These normally consist of Eight Postures, which are used while walking the circle. They are used as a preliminary training method before introducing a student to the practice of the moving palm changes. The purpose of this article is to introduce this training method as it is practiced in the Yin Fu Eight Animal System as taught by Dr Xie Peiqi.
